Former Santos vice-president Vicente Cascione claims Brazil star Neymar will sign for Bayern Munich in the transfer window to link up with former Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola. It appears that Pep managed to sell him the idea of fantastic world domination and Neymar bought into it.
Barcelona are rumoured to be the frontrunners for his signature, but Cascione insists on his blog that the 21-year-old will move to the Bundesliga.
This despite the fact that the player is still contracted to Santos FC until 2014, and has denied he is moving anywhere this transfer window.
“I have this information first hand. Neymar has signed for Bayern Munich. It’s already a done deal,” Cascione wrote.
“I am not speculating here. This information is irrefutable. From August this year on, the player will be part of Bayern’s squad.
“So his next destination will not be Spain, like many expected. He’s not going to Barcelona or Real Madrid. He will go to Germany.”
However, Bayern spokesman Markus Horwick denied the rumours, telling T-Online: “This is complete nonsense. There’s absolutely no truth in this claim.”
Bayern appear to have done their business in the transfer market well, having already acquired the services of young Mario Götze in April.
