Barcelona’s La Liga title chase suffered an painful setback as they lost 1-0 to visitors Malaga on Saturday.

Juanmi scored the only goal of the game after just seven minutes following a schoolboy error by Dani Alves and Barcelona never recovered, producing a rather disappointing display.

Barcelona remain second with a point behind Real Madrid at the top of the Spanish League, but Los Blancos has a chance to extend that to four points against Elche on Sunday.

The loss comes after an impressive record by Barcelona as they had won their previous 11 games in row, scoring 42 goals in the process.

It also makes things interesting as they will go head to with Manchester City for their UEFA Champions League last 16 clash on Tuesday, it will be interesting to see if the loss has demoralised or motivated the Spanish team.
