Ronaldo wants Neymar to surpass his achievements

Brazil legend Ronaldo believes Barcelona star Neymar is destined for greatness and can achieve even more success than him. The 23-year-old netted once in Barca’s 6-0 La Liga win over Getafe on Tuesday to equal Ronaldo’s figure of 47 goals for the Catalans and the two-time World Cup winner thinks his compatriot will only get better in the years to come.

“I sincerely hope that Neymar will surpass me in all aspects,” Ronaldo told ESPN Brasil.

“Neymar has a brilliant future ahead of him and is already performing marvellous at present.

“His performances will please the people of Brazil because he is a great idol.”

Neymar has scored 29 times in La Liga, 10 goals in the Champions League, seven in the Copa del Rey and once in the Supercopa de Espana.

Personally I believe, Neymar will somehow always be in the shadow of Messi he can never really be the main man for Barcelona. In terms of Achievements, he will definitely surpass Ronaldo who is the 5th alltime goal scorer for Brazil, Neymar is behind him by a mere 19 goals however I do not foresee him winning the world cup with Brazil.

#TBT : France vs South Africa 1998 WC

Little was known of France’s star players such as Thierry Henry and Zinedine Zidane, especially from African viewers such as myself. Being a young boy I anticipated the first world cup game South Africa participated in with huge excitement hoping that South Africa will show the world what we are made of, however Zinedine Zidane and co. had other ideas as they went on a complete rampage against Bafana Bafana.

The game ended with 3-0 to the host with Pierre Issa being the scapegoat for the own goal and terrible defending. The French went on to become World Champions, while South AFrica drew the rest of the group games managing to score three goals in total.

Bobby and uncommited Khune reportedly not on good terms

Bobby Motaung and Itumeleng Khune's relationship has hit a low

Bobby Motaung and Itumeleng Khune’s relationship has reportedly hit a low

Itumeleng Khune seems to be ready to close Kaizer Chiefs as a chapter from his book, Bobby Motaung is very sour about the whole ordeal. The thought of losing Khune clearly brings a bitter taste to his taste buds as he has already started excluding him in team affiars.

According to Sunday World, Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung ordered security to block Khune from running onto the pitch to celebrate with the team after the final whistle.

“They blocked him before he could come out of the tunnel. They told him Bobby said he must not go anywhere near the pitch,” a Sunday World source said.

It is alleged that Motaung feels the 27-year-old goal-minder, who is yet to extend his Chiefs contract, is no longer committed to the club.

Chiefs and Khune’s representative Dan Lichman have yet to reach an agreement regarding the goalkeeper’s immediate future.

Bobby Motaung did however give clarity on the matter, stating that there is absolutely no beef between himself and Khune.

There was no celebration by players on the pitch as fans took over, in the dressing room players congratulated each other and the coach (Stuart Baxter) froze the celebration as the team has three more games to finish.

Khune is serving a red card suspension surely we all know he can’t enter the field as Premier Soccer League DC just found our coach guilty of invading the pitch while on suspension.

Shame on you Sunday World for making headlines with a complete fabrication.

However competition is tight, as they will face Guadiola’s previous club who are in steaming form, Barcelona seem to be a gigantic obstacles for the Germans but it will only take two games to determine who will go to Berlin for the final against Real Madrid/Juventus.

Will Bayern secure another title or will the Spanish giant stop them?

With a 13 points lead at the top of the log, Kaizer Chiefs  have put one hand on the trophy and they have done that with four games to spare as they are left with four games to be crowned champs, however with football being unpredictable it might happen that the current champions Mamelodi Sundowns still believe they can retain though it will take a miracle from them and hoping chiefs fail to collect maximum points in their next amakhosi games.

With the 2 teams still to play each other chiefs doesn’t need to win its games in order to be crowned champions they only need a point against Sundowns then the race is over even if downs win all remaining and chiefs lose all remaining, the question is will chiefs take the league against sundowns or before meeting Sundowns on the 29th at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium  in Attridgeville.

However if you have been supporting chiefs since the 80’s you wouldn’t be celebrating knowing that chiefs once threw it away from the similar situation, when they needed 1 point from 4 games under the leadership of Ted Dumitru. They went to lose all four games and giving jomo cosmos the championship, however the situation is different this time around as the men from naturena have lost just 2 games and conceded 11 goals from 26 games its unlikely that the chiefs will fall before the promised land of milk and honey. PSL Pretoria or Phefeni soccer league?
