Yesterday it was the end of the PSL 2014/15 season, we might have not been given a grand finish for the top position this season, however the relegation zone was were the pot was boiling.

Two of SA’s oldest teams Amazulu and Moroka Swallows went to the final game of the season with equal points and fighting for nothing but play offs.

Amazulu who have been sitting rock bottom of the log since the early games of the season started believing they can survive after the arrival of Steve barker who joined the team mid-season that saw them registering few of they wins and a 5-1 trashing of supersport united being the highlight, which gave them a lot of hope that they can survive relegation, whilst The Dube Birds on the other hand kept on dropping points in almost every game they played and that ended up with them befriending Amazulu at the bottom of the log.

In the last few games we saw the two teams changing position 16 amongst each other but it was all to play for in the last game with equal points and relegation door slightly opened.

It took a solitary goal from the madala who still runs like a teenager Siyabonga Nomvete to give swallows a second bite of the cherry and with Amazulu struggling on the other side losing 2-1 it meant the door was closing behind them and they went straight to NFD and for Moroka Swallows its not over yet the fat lady hasn’t started singing.

Can one of the oldest teams in the PSL survive relegation or will they get the chop? The playoffs have the answer to that question. Meanwhile we are still congratulating kaizer Chiefs for their league triumph, they have been worthy winners having set new records on their way to the title.

Well done Kaizer Chiefs!
