SuperSport United head coach Stuart Baxter is set to be unveiled as the new head coach for the South African senior national team, Bafana Bafana.

Various reports emerged on Thursday morning that Baxter had put pen to paper with the South African Football Association (Safa) to fill the the vacancy left by Shakes Mashaba in December 2016.

The former was shown the exit door by SAFA after being found guilty of gross misconduct and insubordination among other charges.

According to Safa’s head of communications Dominic Chimhavi, the deal has been concluded and the official announcement will be made soon to the public.

“We’ve finalised everything and pen has been put to paper. The announcement could be tomorrow or anytime from now. It’s just a matter of calling you guys [the media] to the official announcement,” Chimhavi told Sowetan.

Ruud Krol has emerged as the man identified to replace the Englishman, however the former Orlando Pirates tactician would only be in charge of the team at the start of next season after the club made it clear that they will hold on to their head coach for the remainder of the current campaign.

Ajax Cape Town can confirm that Lebogang Manyama will be a Supersport United player in 2014.
Manyama played his last game for Ajax Cape Town against Platinum Stars on Saturday evening. Lebogang scored 15 goals in 71 starts for Ajax Cape Town. He signed for the Urban Warriors from Alexandra United in 2010.

Ari Efstathiou said, “Ajax Cape Town and Supersport United have agreed terms on the
transfer and Manyama has accepted personal terms offered by United and will join them from January 2014.

Ajax Cape Town has paved the way for Manyama to have a very succesful future and would like to thank him for his contribution to Ajax Cape Town during his three and a half years with the club.”

It was reported early in the month that Ajax had agreed a bid from Chiefs however the player could not agree personal terms with the current PSL log leaders and defending champions. His Manager Maimane Phiri shut the door on any possible local move happening citing that Manyama will hold on for an overseas move which will happen at end of the 2013/14 season.

I just need clarity on something, is Supersport now a European team or does Phiri have anything against Chiefs? for all you know the move would have been a great stepping stone for his career afterall Chiefs will be participating in the champions league.
